People can now have a drink and raise money for the RSPCA at the same time.
For the charity’s Huddersfield branch has collaborated with Phoenix brewery from Heywood near Oldham to make a special pale ale called Dog Daze which is Phoenix’s first vegan recipe.
The tipple is reputed to have a gentle bitterness and grapefruit citrus aromas with the RSPCA receiving a 15p donation from every pint sold.
In Huddersfield town centre it’s on sale at The County Beerhouse, The Kings Head and The Sportsman and will help the RSPCA centre in Halifax which covers Huddersfield, Halifax and Bradford. It rehabilitates unwanted, abandoned and abused animals by finding them loving, permanent homes and has successfully rehomed over 250 this year alone.
The branch relies on public donations and the generosity of the local community to keep its doors open.
RSPCA community and engagement fundraiser Rachael Cooper said: “It currently costs us over £2,000 to run our animal centre for one day so we think the Dog Daze brew is a great way people can show their support.”
The charity is also encouraging any local pubs, bars and restaurants who may be interested in selling Dog Daze to get in touch with Phoenix Brewery for deliveries now on 01706 367359.
