The Snowdogs are patiently waiting in line ready for new owners to take them home – just in time for Christmas.

Over the weekend all 67 Snowdogs, part of The Kirkwood’s Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees art trail met up for the first time in one place.

The pack was brought together at Kirklees College in Huddersfield to say ‘farewell’ to the people of Kirklees before they find new ‘fur-ever’ homes.

The amazing sculptures will go under the hammer at a special auction at Rybrook Jaguar in Lindley Moor Road on Wednesday night.

The sculptures, sponsored by local businesses, were spread across Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Slaithwaite, Dewsbury, Batley, Birstall and Cleckheaton and thousands of people joined the trail, ticking off the Snowdogs as they found them.

TV auctioneer Charles Hanson, of Bargain Hunt fame, will wield the gavel on Wednesday night aiming to raise tens of thousands of pounds for The Kirkwood.

Each of the large artist-designed sculptures has a starting price of a cool £1,500 and bidding is already underway online.

Terry the Terrier, a Huddersfield Town-themed Snowdog, is likely to prove pick of the pack – but how much will he make at auction?
