The University of Huddersfield is to open a new campus … in London.

The new campus known simply as University of Huddersfield – London will provide business-focused postgraduate courses to international students.

These will include Masters courses in several subjects including management, international business, computing and marketing.

The campus will be in a new building on the recently redeveloped Sugar House Island, close to the business district of Canary Wharf and the Olympic Park where London hosted the Games in 2012.

London is consistently ranked as the number one city globally for students and is home to multinational company offices and European headquarters which puts career opportunities for international students right on their doorstep.

The first University of Huddersfield students will start to study in London at the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year.

Prof Alistair Sambell, Pro Vice-Chancellor for International and Dean of Huddersfield Business School at the University of Huddersfield, said: “The University of Huddersfield has a diverse community of over 3,500 international students from more than 100 countries and we look forward to providing additional opportunities from our new London campus.”

The new campus is a joint project with the university and leading international education specialist Study Group which works with 50 universities around the world, bringing an expertise in international education.

Study Group provost and chief academic officer Prof Elena Rodriguez-Falcon said: “Embedding employability into modern curricula, co-designed by Huddersfield University renowned for teaching quality and industry links is an exciting opportunity for international students looking to study in London.

“Developing students for their future careers is core to Study Group’s purpose – equipping students with the skills and academic qualifications they need to thrive. Enabling global career opportunities with an employability mindset is at the core of our partnership with the University of Huddersfield – London.”

Study Group’s partnership with the University of Huddersfield began in 2008 with the establishment of an International Study Centre on the university’s town centre campus in Huddersfield.
