Linthwaite Athletic have clinched the Huddersfield District League Premier Division title and march on in various cup competitions after a remarkable season.
In an unbeaten campaign they have reached the final of the Barlow Cup and the West Riding County Challenge Cup and the semi-final of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup.
They secured the Premier Division title with a 3-0 win over Holmbridge. With two games to play Linthwaite are seven points clear of second-placed Berry Brow who have played the same number of games.
Linthwaite Athletic Reserves, however, were beaten 2-0 in the final of the Groom Cup at the Stafflex Arena by AFC Volunteers with Ryan Matthews scoring both goals.
In the Premier Division, Paul Pyke scored a hat-trick as Berry Brow beat Deighton 5-2. Basement club Britannia Sports picked up their first win of the season beating neighbours AFC Lindley 4-3 with goals from Nick Spurr (two) and Harry Castledine (two).
Netherton sealed fourth place with a 3-1 win at Kirkheaton Rovers with goals from Michael Carter (two) and Adam Robertshaw.
Newsome kept the third place with a 2-1 win at Slaithwaite United with goals from Dwayne Wilkinson and Jordan McCafferty-Smith.
Niall Joseph scored twice as Huddersfield Laund Hill beat Division 1 leaders Saddleworth United 2-1 which cut their lead to five points.
Moorside who have two games in hand stay third following their 2-1 win at Honley. Kyle Farmer and Rhys Roberts scored.
Berry Brow Reserves lead Division 2 on goal difference following their 4-1 win over Wooldale. Grange Moor move up to fourth following a 7-0 win at Newsome Reserves and a 3-0 win against Wooldale Wanderers. Cumberworth completed their fixtures with a 7-1 win over Deighton Reserves with seven different players scoring!
Kirkheaton Rovers were crowned Division 4 winners following their 4-0 win over Wooldale Wanderers Reserves with goals scored by Michael Calvert, Waqhar Uddin, Levi Brown and Alfie Dransfield.
Deighton A stayed two points clear at the top of Division 5 despite losing 4-2 to rivals Allerton. Allerton’s goals were scored by Tee Ahmed (two), Adam Ali and Dhaniel Mahmood. Emick Katika scored both for Deighton.
