The Huddersfield Town Foundation’s annual Big Sleep Out is coming home – to YOUR home!
Supporters aren’t able to bed down at the John Smith’s Stadium like they normally would so people are being urged to camp out in their gardens, driveways, sheds or garages.
The Virtual Big Sleep Out Event, which takes place on Friday March 12, will include a live show for supporters to watch before they bed down for a night in the cold.
The show, which will be broadcast live from Canalside, will feature interviews with Town chairman Phil Hodgkinson, Foundation chief executive Siobhan Atkinson and previous Big Sleep Out beneficiaries.
In addition, supporters will be able to take part in a quiz hosted by Town ambassador Andy Booth; hear from head coach Carlos Corberán ahead of the first-team’s visit to QPR; and watch first team players battle it out in a ‘Me vs Him’ challenge.
The Big Sleep Out has raised more than £120,000 over the last three years for organisations including The Welcome Centre, Huddersfield Mission, Dewsbury Community Outreach, Batley Care & Drop In Centre, The Basement Project and Batley Food Bank.
This year half of the money raised will be distributed to local homelessness charities, with the other half going to the Foundation’s Early Kick-off Breakfast Club programme.
The special show, which starts at 7pm and finishes at 8.30pm, will be broadcast live on the club’s YouTube channel, #HTTV, as well as Facebook and Twitter.
Supporters are then encouraged to ‘sleep out’ and engage with the Town Foundation’s social media channels.
