Muay Thai – a world class sport with a base in Huddersfield – is to stage title fights at the John Smith’s Stadium next month.
Huddersfield is the home of Jayson Brooks, England rep for the World Muay Thai Organization (WMO) and chairman of the England Muay Thai Federation (EMF).
Muay Thai is also known as Thai boxing and Jayson is responsible for the growth of the sport in England under the WMO and EMF. Jayson operates from the Functional Fit Muay Thai gym, which is based in Marsh Mills at Lindley.
On Saturday October 9 a WMO Event, the Siam Super Show, will be held at the John Smith’s Stadium and tickets are available now.
The event – organised by Functional Fit and representing SIAM Camp, will be run in partnership with the Big Red Industries Group.
It will see 15 bouts of high calibre individuals go head-to-head. Two of the bouts will be fighting for the chance of a title belt.
Mike Lomas, of Big Red Industries Group, said: “To have the opportunity to work with Jayson on this fantastic event is an honour.
“The work that Jayson does in the community with so many individuals is commendable. This event is an opportunity to show the fantastic work that the WMO and EMF do in raising the profile of a magnificent sport. This event is one certainly not to be missed!”
Doors open at 5pm and the event runs until 11pm. Tickets at £30 each can be requested from Enquiries@wearebigred.com or by ringing 01484 432 890.
