The Stereophonics are coming to the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield – in only the third big-name concert in six years.
The Welsh band, whose hits include Just Looking, Mr Writer and Dakota, will perform at the stadium on Saturday June 14 2025 and tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday October 11 2024.
It’ll be the first time the stadium has hosted a big-name band since Muse in June 2023. The year before it was Green Day’s Hella Mega Tour, a concert delayed for two years due to the pandemic. The one before that was Take That’s Greatest Hits Live tour in 2019.
It’ll be a major boost to the stadium’s prospective new owner Kevin Nagle, who is close to taking control of the stadium for Huddersfield Town.
Mr Nagle has already said he wants to see the stadium achieve its full potential as a serious concert venue. This summer he has invested around £2 million in repairs, upgrades and improvements.
In the past the stadium has hosted big names including Bon Jovi, Elton John, REM, Little Mix, The Eagles, Bryan Adams and the Beautiful South.
However, concerts have been few and far between when spread over the 30-year lifespan of the stadium.
For the Stereophonics concert, the stadium is offering exclusive hospitality packages which it says offers an “unparalleled experience” with “premium seating, VIP access, amazing food and fantastic service.”
The Platinum package offers a meal in the boardroom at £299 per person plus VAT with a Gold package in a hospitality box for £295 per person plus VAT.
