Slimming World members in Huddersfield cleared out their wardrobes and de-cluttered their cupboards to raise an incredible £10,000 for charity.
Members celebrated their weight loss success by donating clothing that no longer fits to support Cancer Research UK.
Huddersfield groups alone donated an amazing 430 bags full of clothes. The charity estimates that each full bag is worth around £25 when items are sold in charity shops.
Over two weeks in April, Slimming World was asking its members to donate clothes they’ll never wear again for The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw. This year the company has donated more than £24 million to charitable causes.
Almondbury consultant Lynda said: “One of the things we love most about Slimming World is how we all come together for a worthwhile cause.
“On Saturday Huddersfield area members donated 430 bags of clothing, at our collection point at Iceland in Aspley, raising a minimum of £10,750 plus gift aid.”
