A business which helps people with hair loss rebuild their confidence has won a coveted Small Business of the Year award.
Simply Wigs, of Slaithwaite, was successful at this year’s Excellence in Business Awards, hosted by The Yorkshire Post in Leeds.
The Small Business of the Year category was highly-competitive with 69 entries submitted.
Husband and wife team Stuart and Emma Garrard founded the family-run business at their kitchen table in 2007. The company makes wigs and hairpieces for people with hair loss.
Emma said she was so proud of her team and added: “Our main priority as always is to passionately help, guide and assist our customers with their hair loss concerns. This award will take pride of place on our mantelpiece and in our hearts forever.”
Stuart and Emma believe in creating personal connections with their customers and have held to that belief as their business has grown, allowing them to cultivate a community for people with hair loss across the country and beyond.
Some of the ways that they help include sharing hair loss journeys on their blog, running a Wig Bank to facilitate access to high-quality wigs for a fraction of the price and partnering up with local charities to raise funds and awareness.
Stuart and Emma weren’t able to make it to the awards night but were represented by customer service manager Becca Morelli, office manager Hazel Dews and warehouse manager Rebecca Rhodes. The close-knit team said they were “blown away to achieve this amazing award.”
