The Big Hospital Walk is back!

Last year 55 people – and four dogs – took part in the sponsored walk to raise funds for Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity, the official charity of the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

This year’s walk – starting at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax and ending in the new Wellbeing Garden at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary – will take place on Sunday July 7. It’s a six-mile walk and it starts at 10am.

CHFT Charity are looking for as many people as possible to support them for what is their first official event under new branding. As part of their ongoing efforts and growth, CHFT Charity have decided to rebrand themselves to better align with their values and vision.

The route will take walkers through some of the most beautiful countryside, taking the scenic yet rather hilly route from Salterhebble, through West Vale, Holywell Green and Lindley. It’s the perfect opportunity to get friends, family and colleagues together.

Trust chair Helen Hirst, who also chairs the charity, said: “Last year, colleagues spurred each other on and made sure that everyone got to the end with encouragement and enthusiasm.

“I will certainly be taking part again this year, and hope to meet even more colleagues as well as their friends and family.”

Emma Kovaleski, CHFT Charity manager, added: “Your support will allow us to continue to provide those all-important extras that enhance patient experience and colleague wellbeing.”

Registration costs £15 for adults and £8 for children and minimum sponsorship is £50. You can sign up to the Big Hospital Walk HERE.
