Young film-maker Sam Teale launched his 2024 Christmas advert and it’s a moving story that’s left people in tears.

Sam, of Sam Teale Productions, is renowned for his emotive videography and for the last three years he’s taken on the big budget brands with a Christmas advert.

It’s the third time Sam has produced a Christmas advert and this year’s – called ‘The Last Gift’ – is his best yet.

Sam launched it to an audience of more than 300 people at the H Town bar at the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield on Thursday night, and it was released across social media first thing Friday morning.

‘The Last Gift’ tells the story of a widowed young mum of two facing her first Christmas without her husband.

When the family is putting up their Christmas tree, the mum stumbles across an old video tape of happy Christmases past. That leads to an emotional scene between the mum and her late husband which leaves viewers in tears.

The film is about the strength and resilience of single parents and is helping raise money for single parent charity Gingerbread.

Sam and his team of seven – average age 21 – worked all hours to put the film together in just a week.

The video features a moving song – called ‘Our Song’ – by Cleckheaton-based singer-songwriter Jenna Bray, which has just been re-released. Find out more about Jenna HERE.

Sam’s first Christmas advert ‘The Go-Kart’ in 2022 had over 40 million views across the world and reminded people of the true meaning of Christmas.

Sam, who started out as a 15-year-old YouTuber making videos for children’s banking app Go Henry, said ‘The Last Gift’ was his best Christmas advert so far and admitted the big retailers were in his sights.

“We want to beat John Lewis at their own game,” he said. “Our intention isn’t to make you cry all the time – just sometimes!”

Sam also made his first TV advert this year for the male grooming brand Rock Face.
