RSPCA supporters in Huddersfield can see how their local centre needs their funding.

Animals from the Huddersfield area go to the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield and Bradford Branch in Halifax which is having an open afternoon this Bank Holiday Monday (May 6).

The self-funded RSPCA Centre on Wade Street next to the Sainsbury’s store is responsible for trying to find homes for the many unwanted and abandoned animals in its care.

It will be open from 12pm to 3pm with stalls, games, refreshments, interactive learning with their staff, plus lots of animals to meet.

People are welcome to take donations for the animals on the day and the centre particularly needs kitten and cat food along with dog toys.

Visitors can also bring any unwanted clothing, teddies or home items for the RSPCA charity shops and fundraising events. There will be a drive up and drop off point at the back gate of the centre during the open afternoon.
