A preloved clothes and accessories sale to remember and celebrate the life of Hazel Ingleby, of Cumberworth, has raised more than £2,778 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Inspirational Hazel passed away in October 2021, aged 52 years, after a courageous journey with breast cancer, leaving behind her husband Jonathan, son Nathaniel, a loving family, and many friends.

The event, held at The Woodman Inn, Thunderbridge, was organised by Kirsty Charlesworth and five close friends, supported by Yorkshire Cancer Research’s Huddersfield Volunteer Committee.

More than one hundred family and friends came together to support the sale of stunning items of Hazel’s clothing, shoes and accessories and raise vital funds for world-leading cancer research in Yorkshire. A cake stall and charity raffle also featured, with generous donations of raffle prizes from businesses in the area.

A selection of nearly new clothing and accessories was also donated to Yorkshire Cancer Research’s charity shops.

Jonathan said: “Haz loved her family, friends and fashion. It is heartening that her things will be reloved by family, friends and new owners in the future.

“We are delighted that an incredible amount has been raised so far, and confident that more money will be raised through Yorkshire Cancer Research’s charity shops, to help fund pioneering cancer research in Yorkshire.”
