Businessman Ken Davy has welcomed a new ‘Platinum Partner’ to the Huddersfield-based Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Pinnacle Group Facilities Management raised £18,041 for the hospice with a charity golf day at Huddersfield Golf Club in September.
Mr Davy presented a Platinum Partners plaque to Pinnacle’s regional operations manager Sean Hancock.
Mr Hancock said: “We started working with Forget Me Not about five years ago. After we’d done a couple of initiatives with them, they invited us for a tour of the hospice. Once we saw the brilliant work they do there and met the staff we wanted to keep doing more.
“This year we wanted to take it one step further and we thought of a golf day at Huddersfield Golf Club. We engaged with our supply chain and 20 of our contractors jumped in to support the day.
“We were aiming to raise £10,000 but we ended up raising over £18,000. We’ll go again next year and try and do the same and continue in a long-term relationship with Forget Me Not.
“Although it’s Pinnacle Group that’s set up the event, it’s actually our supply chain that’s come together for a common cause. It’s such a wonderful facility at Forget Me Not, people just wanted to get on board with us.”
Ninety golfers came to the golf day, taking part in a Beat the Pro Challenge, 4-ball Team Event, Nearest the Pins, Raffle and a Silent Auction, followed by a meal and comedy by Les Gibson, a semi-finalist from Britain’s Got Talent.
Mr Davy, of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Platinum Partners, said: “All of us at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice are delighted that Pinnacle Group have decided to join our Platinum Partnership and would like to thank them for their generous support.
“We look forward to building on the strong relationship we have developed with them so that together we can further support children with life shortening conditions and their families.”
