Huddersfield musician, songwriter and producer Leo Brazil has just launched his new record label.

And he’s celebrating by releasing his new single, Tiger Inside, with Huddersfield band Wadcutter Blues and the promotional video shows him recording the track.

The multi-instrumentalist draws his inspiration from animals and the natural world which is why his label is called Birds And Beasts Records and his sound mixes acoustic, folk, pop and psychedelia.

Leo has supported and shared stages with names such as The Blow Monkeys, Get Cape Wear Cape, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Space and The Blues Band.

Leo says: “Tiger Inside is a fun song that I wrote 20 years ago and was a crowd favourite from my early years gigging solo and with my old band The Twitch. It seems fitting to revisit it all these years later at this crossroads in my life.

“Collaborations are something I plan to explore a lot more. It was a great honour performing this song with Wadcutter Blues, not to mention we had an absolute blast in the studio.”

Leo used to be in a band called Birds and Beasts.

He said: “Birds and Beasts was a band I started with my ex-wife and was my primary focus for almost a decade. We parted company amicably but I’m an emotional guy and it took some time to come to terms with that.

“I knew I was really proud of all the hard work and I still believe the songs are powerful. I knew I couldn’t entirely say goodbye to that chapter of my life.

“I’m currently writing and recording some of the best music I’ve ever created and working in a few different styles with different outfits. Uniting all this music under the Birds and Beasts Records umbrella seems a great way of looking to the future while acknowledging the past.”

Leo has some great reviews such as:

“Colourful and joyous, groove filled, thumping and purposeful” – Folk Phenomena

“Like a Wes Anderson animation in sonic form” – Kitchen Disco Records

“Psychedelic folk, fused with cosmic and disco pop. Fun, clever and unique” – Loafers

“Energy, passion, tight harmonies” – Northern Quarter
