The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce has announced Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, as the keynote speaker for its upcoming event, MY Conference Kirklees.

The conference, to be held on Wednesday March 29, will see delegates from across the region flock to Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium for a day of networking, keynote addresses and wellbeing sessions. Over 60 businesses are exhibiting, with 240 having already confirmed their attendance.

Ms Brabin will be delivering the keynote speech, addressing the current economy in the region and updating on her 10-pledge plan for West Yorkshire.

Also delivering keynote addresses will be Shevaun Haviland, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, and Laura Forester-Green, KTP manager at the University of Huddersfield.

Delegates will also be able to attend ‘Wellness Stream’, a range of mini sessions throughout the day covering wellbeing strategies, working from home and advice for those juggling work and care.

Martin Hathaway, managing director of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “I am thrilled that we can deliver such a fantastic line up of speakers for this year’s conference, with an increased focus on wellbeing and employee wellness.

“These factors, rightly so, are becoming increasingly more important to businesses as the lines between work and personal lives are becoming blurred due to more remote and flexible working.

“Levelling up Yorkshire is high on our agenda as a chamber, so hearing from Ms Brabin and Ms Haviland on these issues both locally and nationally is incredibly important for our delegates.”

MY Conference Kirklees 2023 is supported by Beanie Media, Faith PR, Five Talents, The John Smith’s Stadium and Social Progress.
