Huddersfield boutique hotel Manor House has been named best hotel wedding venue in Yorkshire at The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) 2022.
Bought in 2016 by owner Sara Presley as a run-down Georgian mansion and former children’s home, the Lindley venue underwent an extensive £5.5 million restoration project that saw it transformed into an 11-bedroom boutique hotel, restaurant and wedding venue that opened in 2018.
Mark Ayre, general manager at Manor House, said: “Winning this award based on the feedback and experience of the couples who have been married at Manor House or are due to have their wedding here is a huge accolade for both the venue and our exceptionally talented team.
“Manor House is a wedding venue with a difference. It’s hard to believe that as recently as 2016, the building was a run-down Georgian mansion that Sara used to pass on her jogging route.
“Now, our main wedding space, The Coach House, is a beautifully designed venue that is light, bright and airy and features beamed ceilings, a bespoke floristry wall installation and an imposing art-deco style bar set against classic parquet flooring and rich, sumptuous fabrics.
“Everything at Manor House is centred around impeccable interiors, service with flair, exceptional dining and an other-wordly experience for our guests. The venue was painstakingly restored to what it is now – a place where heritage features take centre stage, complemented by stained glass, luxury fabrics, floor-to-ceiling windows and considered lighting arrangements.”
Mr Ayre added: “Being the best at what we do in Yorkshire is most definitely where our sights are focused, and we hope to perform well at The Wedding Industry Awards national final in London.”
Established in 2011, The Wedding Industry Awards are the only client-voted regional and national awards in the wedding industry. Manor House will now go through to the national final this month.
