Kirklees Council has announced the full line up for Kirklees Pride which takes place on Saturday June 15 from 1pm in St George’s Square, Huddersfield.

Headlining this free event will be award-winning girl band Stooshe. The band have had a string of top 10 hits, a top 10 album and hundreds of live performances, and their biggest hit to date ‘Black Heart’ was nominated for Best British Single of the Year at the Brits.

Joining Stooshe on the main stage will be Dr Weevil and Atholl bringing their unique take on some dance classics to St George’s Square.

West End star Amie Atkinson will be singing some classics from the musicals and there will be performances from Lady Gaga and Dolly Parton tribute acts and local drag artists.

The event will once again be compered by the hilarious Mamma Bear and promises to be an afternoon of comedy, celebration and fantastic music.

Richard Parry, strategic director for adults and health, said: “We are once again delighted to support Kirklees Pride as it goes from strength to strength; our fabulous line up, workshops, food and drink and commercial stalls, all promise to make a fantastic day of entertainment and fun for all ages.

“We are proud to be diverse and inclusive here in Kirklees and our Pride event is in support and celebration of the community in our borough.”

In addition to the main stage, there will be street theatre from the stunning Bloom People, a giant inflatable jousting game, circus skills, free face painting, henna tattoos and hair braiding.

Food and drink stalls will include Simply Prosecco, RAIN bar, Greek Treat, Punch Truck, Nomadic Pizza and Waffletastic.

There will be free crafting workshops, information stands and a Pride market with over 50 stalls.
