A goal from Man of the Match James Walshaw set Emley AFC on their way to a sixth straight win as they continue their push for promotion.
The Pewits beat Eccleshill United 4-1 at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Saturday as fans were treated to a football feast on the pitch – and a stunning sunset show off it.
Emley, unbeaten in 14 matches, are now four points behind leaders Campion with four games in hand.
Walshaw headed the opener in the 26th minute from a Jacob Kelly corner and it remained 1-0 at the break.
The Eccleshill defence, which had coped well in the first half, were the architects of their own downfall just five minutes after the re-start when Ruben Jerome collected a wayward pass and simply stroked the ball into an empty net to double the lead.
In the 64th minute an own goal saw Emley make it 3-0. Ross Hardaker’s cross to the back post was turned into his own net by Jahro Parchment.
Eccleshill grabbed a consolation goal 10 minutes later when Emley couldn’t clear a corner and Brice Ghussein eventually prodded home.
The Pewits comfortably saw out the rest of the game and added a fourth with the last meaningful kick of the contest when a loose pass was intercepted by Jimmy Eyles, who had a clear run at goal, held off a defender and smashed home.
Emley’s next game is against Bottesford Town at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Saturday December 23 (3.00).
