Huddersfield’s International Market returns to the town centre for a four-day run later this week.
New Street will become a bustling market place from Thursday October 7 to Sunday October 10 as up to 50 specialist traders from around the world set up stall.
The event will offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy international food flavours and the chance to shop for unique arts and crafts. The market will be open 9am-5pm Thursday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
Stalls will include fresh hot street food from a selection of different countries from across Europe and beyond including France, Spain, Germany, Morocco, India, Lithuania, and Thailand. There will be a range of ready-to-eat sweet treats made fresh to order as well unusual burgers such as boar and kangaroo.
An on-site bar will be serving a selection of great beers as well as stalls selling a selection of fair trade-flavoured coffee beans, arts, craft and jewellery. This will also feature in addition to the food and drink offer.
Clr Will Simpson, Cabinet member for culture and greener Kirklees said: “It’s great to see the fabulous International Market returning to Huddersfield for the fourth time.
“The wide selection of incredible food, drink and gifts that will be available from the variety of countries will complement the existing markets and town centre offer and will no doubt add a unique dimension for shoppers heading into town at the weekend.”
