The Kirklees Top 100 Companies initiative has welcomed Huddersfield Hub as its new media partner as it gets ready to unveil its fourth list in October.
Launched in 2020, the Kirklees Top 100 Companies celebrates the achievements of the region’s business community, with the aim to put Kirklees on the map as an attractive destination for inward investment, business start-ups, talent development and scale-up and growth.
The initiative was founded by partners the University of Huddersfield, Kirklees Council and the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (3M BIC). This year’s launch event is also supported by Huddersfield Town AFC.
The Kirklees Top 100 Companies list is determined by a set of consistent metrics, using a combination of turnover, profit, employee numbers and growth, all derived from published company accounts of locally registered firms drawn from the FAME/ BVD database.
The 23/24 list will be officially announced on Thursday October 5 and will reveal which businesses across Kirklees have made it into the top 100 list, the top 10 and the coveted top three.
Huddersfield Hub was set up by professional and experienced journalists Martin Shaw and Steven Downes to provide a fresh, vibrant and positive news platform for Huddersfield, covering local news, sport, business, what’s on, community and charity events.
As media partner of the Kirklees Top 100 Companies, Huddersfield Hub’s team – including freelance journalist Andrew Hirst – will support the production of the 23/24 brochure, including content creation and securing sponsorship.
Martin Shaw, editor and managing director of Huddersfield Hub, said: “The Kirklees Top 100 Companies has been on our radar since it first launched. It is a fantastic initiative that puts a spotlight on Kirklees’ businesses and highlights the amazing things that they do.
“We are incredibly proud to be a part of it this year and look forward to helping spread the word about the inspiring businesses that are just on our doorstep.”
Sue Cooke, CEO of the 3M BIC, said: “On behalf of all the Kirklees Top 100 partners, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Martin and the rest of the Huddersfield Hub team. We would also like to thank the Huddersfield Examiner for supporting the initiative over the last three years.
“Now in its fourth year, the initiative is making great strides to bring the Kirklees business community closer together and we are looking forward to working with the Huddersfield Hub team as we strive to deliver further collaboration and inspire future generations.”
Other Kirklees Top 100 Companies sponsors for 23/24 include Howarths UK, Langricks Accountants and the Huddersfield Giants.
