Welcome to our Huddersfield BID town centre blog where every month BID manager SAM SHARP looks at some of the exciting things going on in the town.

If you’re looking to fill your calendar with some exciting happenings, Huddersfield BID has you covered! Whether you’re a student, local business owner, or just looking for some festive fun, there’s something for everyone. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming up!

It’s time to dust off those lederhosen because the OktoberFeast Night Market is just around the corner, bringing a taste of Bavaria to the Huddersfield Open Market on October 4.

Picture local craft stalls, sizzling German sausages, and delicious brews from Huddersfield’s finest local breweries. With an Oompa band to bring the Bavarian vibes and The Flat Cap Brass Band adding their unique flair, this is set to be a night you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re grabbing a bite to eat or discovering hidden gems at the stalls, it’ll be a feast for the senses!

Now, speaking of local gems, have you heard about the Hello Huddersfield app? It’s your ultimate guide to everything happening in town – events, offers, places to eat and drink, all in one place.

Whether you’re looking for the latest event or hunting down a great deal, the app is your one-stop-shop for Huddersfield’s best spots. Download it now and make sure you’re always in the loop!

For students, the Huddersfield Student Lock In on September 19 is coming, and it’s the shopping event of the year! The Kingsgate Shopping Centre will be buzzing with epic bargains, exclusive offers, giveaways, and live entertainment.

Brad Mack and Camel’s resident DJ will be setting the vibe while you snag freebies from your favourite high-street brands. If you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe or just love a good deal, this is your chance to score big!

But it’s not all just fun and games. If you’re a levy-paying business, you won’t want to miss Breakfast with BID. It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow levy payers, network with the BID team, and enjoy a free breakfast at the Hello Huddersfield Unit. There’s no better way to start your day than with a hot drink, pastry and good conversation, so come along and connect!

On the topic of making connections, Huddersfield BID is working alongside Kirklees Council and Keep Britain Tidy to clean up chewing gum from our streets.

Cross Church Street, John William Street, and Dewsbury’s South Street are all getting a deep clean, complete with jet-washing and new signage to help keep litter at bay.

Cabinet member Clr Munir Ahmed even dropped by to check out the progress, showing his support for our efforts to keep Huddersfield and Dewsbury looking their best. Together, we’re making a real difference in our community!

And for businesses looking to stay ahead of the game, our digital marketing training session is the perfect way to get Christmas-ready. From social media strategies to festive campaign ideas, they’ll help ensure your marketing shines during the holiday season. Don’t miss out on this opportunity on October 22 to boost your business during one of the busiest times of the year!

While we’re talking preparation, why not sign up for our First Aid at Work workshop on November 25? Knowing how to respond in an emergency is essential, and this training will give you the skills you need to handle workplace situations with confidence. Make sure your workplace is safe and ready for anything by joining us for this crucial session.

Finally, as the festive season approaches, we can’t wait to see local businesses owners at our Christmas Networking Event at the Lawrence Batley Theatre!

With festive food, a free drink on arrival, and the chance to network with other businesses, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the holidays in style.

Plus, there’s a silent Urban Artist Competition Auction, with proceeds going to the Lawrence Batley Theatre and Kirkwood Hospice – a wonderful way to give back to the community.

From OktoberFeast to Christmas networking, there’s plenty to look forward to in Huddersfield this season. We can’t wait to see you at these events and workshops – let’s make the most of it together!
