Häuser by Heywood Homes has appointed Daval Furniture to support the development of 35 luxury new build homes in Huddersfield.
Daval, based in Slaithwaite, will design and manufacture a selection of made-to-measure fitted kitchens and bedroom furniture for the eco-development in the village of Netherthong.
Cathrine Dickinson, sales director at Heywood Homes, said: “We’re keen to minimise our carbon footprint wherever possible on this development, and so being able to work with Daval – who are based less than six miles away from where we are building – really fits with the ethos of what we’re trying to achieve.
“The quality of Daval’s furniture, plus the fact it is made just down the road from our Netherthong development, makes this a great collaboration where two neighbouring businesses can support each other to achieve the very best outcome for our new homeowners.”
She added: “The Bluebell Meadow’s development will offer the very best internal finishes sourced from local suppliers, including Daval.
“From kitchens to bathrooms and bedrooms, we work with our customers to design their perfect home and ensure they have the same powerful aesthetic impression inside as we deliver outside.”
James Bodsworth, creative director at Daval Furniture, said: “We’re delighted to be the chosen kitchen and bedroom partner for the Bluebell Meadows development, not least because it’s so local to us in Huddersfield.
“We are being approached by increasing numbers of small-plot housebuilders to support them with projects like this one, and it’s evident that sourcing locally is becoming increasingly important to developers when specifying new developments.”
Daval Furniture was founded in 1978 by cabinetmaker David Bodsworth. The company is now run by Mr Bodsworth’s sons Simon, Paul and James, and manufactures and supplies fitted furniture across the UK from its 100,000sq ft HQ and factory in Slaithwaite.
