Golcar United joint boss Ash Connor wants his side on the front foot to cement a good start to the campaign with victory in the first home game of the season against Nelson FC.
The Weavers are back at the Skye Direct Stadium on Saturday (3.00) following an unbeaten start to the new campaign.
Battling performances in successive away games have resulted in four points from a possible six and a win against Nelson will boost confidence no end.
“It’s the first home game of the season and we are hoping for a good crowd and a good result,” said Connor.
“We have played Nelson twice before and they are very well-organised and we are expecting a tough game.”
Golcar had to come from behind in both games so far this season, drawing 1-1 with Holker Old Boys with 10 men and overturning a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 at Campion on Tuesday.

“Against Campion we created a lot of chances and if we can be a bit more clinical that would be great. It would also be nice not to fall behind again! We keep giving teams a head start but, having said that, we have shown great character to come back.
“We’ve had a good start but it’s only two games and no-one is getting carried away. We have prepared right and done nothing any different.”
Golcar are without six or seven players and young defender Jake Barrett starts a three-match ban for his dismissal at Holker. Striker Mike Fish, who scored the equaliser in Cumbria but missed Tuesday’s game, is back in contention.
Tickets at £5 (£3 concessions) are available on the gate.
