Golcar United boss Gav Connor is backing his side to end a run of three straight defeats and arrest a slide down the Northern Counties East League Premier Division table.
The newly-promoted side have conceded nine goals and only scored three in their last three matches and that poor run of form has seen them slip to 17th, just three points above the relegation places.
Joint boss Connor said: “We just need to stop giving sloppy goals away. The group of lads we have are more than good enough and I’m sure we can turn the results around and climb the table.”
Golcar’s latest defeat was a 3-2 loss away at Garforth Town. Despite striker Kayle Price bagging two goals either side of half-time for the visitors it was Garforth’s James Burgess who grabbed the winner to secure the points.
On the game Connor added: “The performance wasn’t so bad, we actually played a lot better than in the previous two games.
“We scored two decent goals, hit the bar twice and their keeper was MOM so we probably deserved something out of the game. The goals Garforth scored came from individual errors that we were punished for.
“It was nice to see Kayle score. I’m sure he will score his fair share of goals for us this season and now he’s off the mark his confidence should be back.”
The Weavers have another tough test on Tuesday night when Albion Sports visit the Skye Direct Stadium (7.45 kick-off).
Albion are in winning form and Connor said: “It’s another difficult one. They’ve won three on the bounce so I’m sure they’ll come to the Skye Direct Stadium full of confidence and, looking at our recent results, probably expecting to get three points.”
