Golcar United made it a Christmas to remember as they stayed at the top of the North West Counties Division One North table after Nick Crane once again scored the winning goal to give the Weavers all three points.
Crane grabbed the winning goal last time out as United beat Cleator Moor Celtic 3-2 on a foggy day up in Cumbria. The centre half was once again the hero as he scored the winner for the Weavers to beat Chadderton on Monday afternoon.
With Bury AFC beating Steeton on Monday it was vital that Golcar continued to pick up vital victories.
The game started well for Golcar as top scorer Ash Flynn opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with his 27th goal of the campaign.
The home side equalised after 65 minutes with Ethan Sutcliffe grabbing the goal.
Crane got the winner for Golcar as he powered a header past the helpless Chadderton keeper three minutes later.
Next up for Golcar is the rearranged home fixture against fellow promotion seekers Holker Old Boys on Bank Holiday Monday – January 3 (3.00).
