A family charity cricket day was held at Scholes on Sunday as part of a £50,000 fundraising campaign by former Scholes CC captain James Noble.
James is aiming to raise £50k to help Barnsley Hospital’s Neonatal Unit and Sheffield Children’s Hospital in memory of his son Harry, who was born with irreversible brain damage and died in August.
On Sunday a team of Scholes legends from the title-winning teams of 2000 and 2001 took on teams from 2009 and 2010. There were also family fun activities, an auction, barbecue and live music from The Jin.
Today (Monday August 30) the annual village cricket match between the villages of Scholes and Hepworth will be a Hundred game at 2.30pm with further fundraising for James’s cause at the Chapelgate ground (HD9 1SX).
