Local rivals Skelmanthorpe and Shepley had a taste of bigger league facilities when they played their Huddersfield District League derby at Emley AFC’s Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on Thursday night.
Both clubs are partners with Emley and were offered the chance to play under the floodlights at their Northern Counties East League Premier Division big brother.
Local bragging rights went to Skelmanthorpe who won the game 2-1. Morgan scored Skelmanthorpe’s first and provided the cross that saw Simpson head the winner. Sykes scored for Shepley.
