Cabaret comedy icons Frisky & Mannish are back with a brand-new show ‘PopCorn.’
The duo have joined forces with the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield for an ambitious digital event like no other.
Part-movie, part-live show, part-parody, part-love letter to cinema – PopCorn is the digital realisation of everything audiences and critics have come to love about Frisky & Mannish.
After their 2019 critically-acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe sell out show ‘Pop Lab’ – one of the Top 10 best reviewed shows at the festival – they are ready to reveal their latest project. PopCorn is cinema-themed musical comedy extravaganza celebrating great films.
Like so many, Frisky & Mannish have spent the last 18 months slumped on the couch, wolfing through mail-order snacks and repeat-watching favourite movies.
However, for Frisky & Mannish it wasn’t for pleasure it was for work as they were tirelessly researching their new show!
This acclaimed pair of pop academics have rigorously examined the inner workings of great films such as Mrs Doubtfire, Moulin Rouge and Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride and more. The result is an action-packed, comedic romp through movie genres.
PopCorn, filmed at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, will be available to stream for ticket-holders from November 1-14.
This is an online, digital show. Once you have purchased your ticket you will receive an email with a PDF ticket attached which will contain your screening link. This will activate at 00:01 on the date you have booked and expire 48 hours later.
The stream can be viewed as many times as you like for a 48-hour window. Standard tickets cost £15.
