Sangam Mela

Sunday July 17 – 12noon-5pm, main field, Greenhead Park

The Sangam Mela will be a fun family day with live music, food stalls, entertainment for kids of all ages and lots more. Bring all the family, in fact bring the whole street!

Hosted by Radio Sangam and Communities Together, supported by Kirklees Council as part of the Sangam Festival.

Clr Will Simpson, Cabinet member for culture and greener Kirklees, said: “I’m delighted that we are supporting Sangam and Huddersfield Carnival Committee with their family fun day events that are free and inclusive for all.

“Both days offer a fabulous opportunity for our communities to come together to celebrate the diverse and fascinating heritage we have in Kirklees.

“We want to bring an exciting show to local residents. Massaoke have performed for crowds of thousands at festivals like Glastonbury and Latitude and have toured the world from the US to Australia, so this is a real scoop for Kirklees.

“I hope everyone will bring their family, friends and neighbours and have a fantastic time at these free events in the picturesque surroundings of Greenhead Park.”
