Twenty business owners from across Yorkshire attended the launch of Emley AFC’s 1903 Premier Business Club hosted by football club president Andrew Hobson.

The event, at The 3 Acres restaurant in Shelley, was the first of five events this season aimed at bringing together a wide variety of select businesses while supporting Emley AFC’s plans on and off the field.

The premier club is the realisation of the vision of Mr Hobson who believed that with the right level of quality hospitality and mix of people a ‘premier league’ corporate offering can be delivered with a wholesome mix of grassroots community football.

Emley chairman Andrew Painten delivered the club’s blueprint for the future and outlined plans for further stadium development and team investment.

He thanked the new 1903 club members for their support and explained how it will go towards realising the ambitions of the club while supporting the work they do in the community with junior partner clubs.

Further matchday events are planned at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground where The 3 Acres outside catering team and the Woodfired Oven company will be delivering ‘in the field’ corporate hospitality.

Five events are planned across the season culminating in a play on the pitch BBQ for family, friends and employees of the supporting businesses.

Signing off the inaugural lunch Mr Hobson said: “To have such a table of esteemed business owners supporting the 1903 Premier Business Club has gone far beyond my early vision.

“I have purposely limited the club to 20 business owners to ensure everyone feels connected. Special thanks must go to Robertson Baxter as main sponsor of the club, Chadwick Lawrence Solicitors as associate sponsor and The 3 Acres for delivering a premier hospitality experience.”
