Emley AFC and Golcar United are both into the FA Vase first round proper after away victories over Vauxhall Motors and Barnton FC respectively.

The Pewits came though thanks to a penalty shoot-out while the Weavers progressed after goals from Kayle Price and Dan Naidole.

Dominic Riordan’s header from a free-kick for Emley cancelled out a goal from Michael Burkey and the game finished 1-1.

For the second time this season, Emley faced a shoot-out decider and again they won through. Conner Brunt comfortably notched Emley’s first spotkick but Vauxhall made it 1-1.

Joe Kenny struck next for Emley to make it 2-1 and that advantage was protected as Pewits’ keeper Dec Lambton pulled off a save.

Emley’s next kick was hammered home by Rikki Paylor for 3-1 and then Vauxhall’s third penalty slammed against the post. That left it to Scott Smith to coolly slot home and send Emley through.

There were celebrations too for Golcar as they went through against Barnton FC. Price gave the Weavers the lead with a cracking strike but the home side levelled just 10 minutes later with a solo effort from Freddie Garbutt.

Naidole scored what proved to be the winner in the 66th minute with a simple finish from a whipped in free-kick.

Both teams are back in league action on Tuesday night as Emley face Garforth Town at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground and Golcar face Bottesford Town at the Skye Direct Stadium. Both games kick off at 7.45pm.
