Emley AFC’s Fantastic Media Welfare Ground has a smart new look – with the installation of 300 white seats from Huddersfield Town’s John Smith’s Stadium.
The donated seats were surplus to requirements at the John Smith’s Stadium and Emley funded installation works through a grant from the Premier League Stadium Fund and cash raised from supporters.
Fans were asked to sponsor a seat at £50 each and the names of donors – or the names of loved ones they want to remember – will be inscribed on a plaque to be erected in the back of the stand.
There were 305 seats donated in total and a few seats are still available to sponsor.
Another major improvement at the ground is a new fence which runs from the away dugout all the way down and across the Warburton End.
More improvements are planned over the next few months including a new digital scoreboard, paid for by a sponsor, and LED floodlights.
On all these upgrades and improvements, Emley AFC chairman Andrew Painten said: “We want to be top of the league in every department – on and off the pitch.
“I firmly believe we have the best stadium in the league and few at Step 5 across the country can match the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground. These improvements – those completed and those on the horizon – cement that place.”
