Newsome went top of Division 1 on goal difference by beating Dalton Dynamos 2-1 with a brace of goals from Devonte Gayle.
Jack Evans, Alex Vickerman and Adam Lightowlers (two) scored as Netherton moved up to second place in Division 2 in their 4-2 win at Kirkburton with Jonathan Butterfield and Troy Toulcher scoring for the hosts.
Holme Valley Academicals drew 2-2 with Lepton Highlanders and a brace from Cliffroy Creighton saw off Brook Motors as Huddersfield Laund Hill won 2-1. Dylan Brett scored for the Motors.
Marsden moved up to third place in Division 3 with goals from Shane Kelly, Oliver Bingham, Jordan Pettifor and Joshua Smith (four) in a 7-2 win at Mount, with George Bailey and Ben Harris (two) scoring for Mount. Harry Birro, Jonathan Jones and Elliott O’Kane scored for Brighouse Athletic in their 3-1 win over Holmfirth Town.
In reserve Division 1, Kyle Forde, Andrew Roberts, Rhys Wharam (two) and Lee Wharam scored as Berry Brow went third in their 5-2 win over bottom club AFC Lindley whose goals were scored by Edward Maywand and Michael Beaumont.
Deighton with goals from Jamal Hussain, Dareece Siddique (two), Ben Stott, Martin Hirst, Matthew Shaw and Leevan Brown beat Britannia Sports 7-3. Chris Fowler (two) and Ben Crossland scoring for Britannia.
In the only game in reserve Division 2 Grange Moor Saints beat Slaithwaite United 4-2 with goals from Adam Wain, Jordan Wells and a pair from Bailey Roy. Joe Moore scored both for Slawit.
Dalton Dynamos Thirds moved up to third place in reserve Division 3 with a narrow 4-3 win at home to Hade Edge with goals from Tomi-Mac Creaghan, Connor Steele and Leigh Miller (two). Cameron Young scored all three for the Edge.
Josh Armitage (three) and Harry Mallinson (two) scored for Brook Motors Development in their 5-5 draw with neighbours Honley.
Daniel Colbeck (two), Joshua Chilvers, Terry Murphy and Joe Kelly scoring for Honley. Wooldale Wanderers beat bottom club Cumberworth B 7-1 with goals from Anthony Hutt (three), Eli Bell (two) and Luke Barraclough (two) with Liam Brothers scoring a consolation for Cumberworth.
In the Sheffield County Junior Cup Scissett beat Nostell Miners Welfare Thirds 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
In the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup Berry Brow had an excellent 5-0 win over Huddersfield Laund Hill from the West Yorkshire League with goals from Liam Dobson, Luke Gibson, Wayne Shooter, Romell Simpson and Kyle Walton.
Kirkheaton Rovers lost to Shepley 3-2 and Linthwaite Athletic comfortably beat Cumberworth 13-0. Meltham Athletic lost to Fothergill and Whittles 4-1 on penalties following a 3-3 draw and Shelley from the West Yorkshire League beat Diggle 5-1.
Daniel Simpson scored a hat-trick as Skelmanthorpe beat Yorkshire Amateur League side Golcar United Reserves 4-1. Ben Boulton, Tim Dyson (two) and Andrew Chadwick scored as Slaithwaite United narrowly beat Saddleworth United 4-3 with Tommy Bunn, Jake Jacobs and James Mooney scoring for Saddleworth.
Moorside with goals from Ryan Beech, Joseph Fagan, Kieran Thomasson, Tyler Newton and Tom Walsh beat Almondbury Woolpack 5-3. Courtney Allert, Joel Cartledge and Callum Parker scoring for the Woolpack. Marsden from the Yorkshire Amateur League went through beating Wooldale Wanderers 9-0.
In the Huddersfield FA Challenge Trophy for reserve teams Berry Brow A moved through to the next round beating Skelmanthorpe 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Linthwaite A also went through to the next round with a comfortable 4-0 win over Heywood Irish Centre.
Netherton are also through beating Fothergill and Whittles 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw whilst Netherton A went out losing 3-2 on penalties after a 3-3 draw with Brook Motors.
