Dan Naidole bagged a hattrick and took his personal goal tally for the season to 11 as Golcar United beat Cleator Moor Celtic 3-0 at the Skye Direct Stadium on Tuesday night.
Naidole, taking on the goalscoring responsibilities from injured 19-goal top scorer Ash Flynn, scored in the 32nd, 48th and 74th minutes.
On his three goals Naidole said: “I am buzzing to score a hattrick, but most of all I am very pleased with the team performance. I thought we were well in control of the whole game.”
Naidole played up front in place of Flynn, sidelined with a hamstring injury, and said: “It turned out to be a perfect night for myself.
“Ash being out injured is a big blow, we all know he is a true goalscorer. Let’s hope he makes a speedy recovery.”
Naidole believes the goalscoring will be shared around and the team isn’t reliant on just one or two players.
He said: “I think we have goalscorers all around in our squad which is important. I also have to credit our keepers and defence though too, they have been superb. The clean sheet was just as important as my goals.
“Winning 3-0 with some rotation of players just shows how strong our squad is and we can trust any player to step in when needed.”

The victory sends the Weavers to second in the North West Counties Division One North table, three points behind the leaders Bury AFC.
On Saturday Golcar play Newcastle Benfield away in the FA Vase first round proper. United once again have the opportunity to make history if they win the game and progress to the next round.
