Chris Martin bags the only goal of the game as Scissett lift the Groom Cup while all-conquering Newsome FC Reserves seal the treble

Newsome FC Reserves have completed a treble – winning HDAFL Reserve Division 1, the FA Challenge Trophy and the Richardson Cup.

Britannia Sports took the second promotion spot in Division 2 with a fine 4-1 win over Kirkburton. Mike Annoville scored twice with further goals from Steve Cross and Will Winnard. Alex Mathias scored the consolation goal for Kirkburton.

Scissett won the Groom Cup last Thursday night beating Moorside 1-0 in a very evenly balanced game. Chris Martin scored the decisive goal that sealed the tie.

The man of the match and winner of the Geoff Earnshaw Shield was Scissett’s, Ryan Trafford. The editor of Huddersfield Hub, Martin Shaw, and co-director and sports editor Steven Downes presented the trophies after the match.
