BrockFest returns this weekend for a nine-hour music event for the whole community – and it’s free!
The event, which marked the return of Brockholes Carnival in 2023 after an absence of 14 years, promises fun for all the family.
Sponsored by precision engineering component supplier Accu and other local businesses, BrockFest 2024 has bands, beer, food stalls, kids’ workshops, entertainment and more. There are four beer pumps on tap and all the ales come from Huddersfield breweries.
BrockFest is held at Brockholes Recreation Ground on Saturday August 31 from 12noon to 9pm.
Project Charlie, a three-piece acoustic band from Holmfirth, will be on stage from 2pm-3pm with Linthwaite singer-songwriter Mason Whittle at 4.30pm-5.15pm.
Rock covers band, Blind Monkeys, will be performing from 5.30pm to 7.30pm with Blur tribute band Blurz from 8pm until 9pm.
Organiser Clr Tony McGrath said: “BrockFest was brilliant last year and this year it promises to be even better. We’d like to thank all our sponsors who have made it possible.”
Alastair Morris, managing director at Accu, said: “We are excited to continue our support for BrockFest as it returns for its second year.
“The sponsorship is part of our ongoing commitment to the local community and we understand how much the event means to local people. Being able to contribute to its success again is a privilege and we look forward to seeing it thrive now and in the future.”
The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
