Rob Donaldson scored 24 points for West Yorkshire Hawks but the Huddersfield-based side lost 90-56 in the National Cup against Newcastle Knights, a team two divisions above.
Hawks head coach Danny Byrne said: “It was always going to be a tough game against one of the best sides in the country.
“They were well-organised and played at a level we struggled to contain. It’s a valuable experience for us as we work to reach this level in the future.”
