Police have been tackling pavement parking across Huddersfield issuing fixed penalty notices to drivers causing an obstruction.

After complaints from the public, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted patrols in St Thomas’ Road, Manchester Road, Blackmoorfoot Road, Dryclough Road, Newsome Road and Halifax Old Road.

A police spokesman said: “Words of advice were given to residents and nine fixed penalty notices were issued for unnecessary obstruction.”

Elsewhere, officers from Kirklees Rural NPT were made aware of a red Hyundai causing an obstruction in the Holmfirth area (pictured below).

The car had gone when officers arrived but efforts are being made to contact the registered keeper to give them words of advice.
