Huddersfield-based Fresh Futures has received a donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation after being nominated by staff at the Huddersfield New Street branch.
Fresh Futures, a charity that supports vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and their families in Kirklees, received the £500 donation to help it continue its support within the local community.
The charity was nominated by Tilly Douglass, a customer consultant from the Huddersfield New Street branch, after hearing about the work the charity does at Brian Jackson House which includes providing support for vulnerable adults, helping young people stay in education and providing a free play room for families.
Sarah Graham, of Yorkshire Building Society in Huddersfield, said: “We are proud to be able to support Fresh Futures in our community in Huddersfield with a donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.”
Aimee Webb, income and engagement officer at Fresh Futures, said: “We are very grateful for the donation which will support our continued efforts to improve the lives of our service users.”
Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference scheme where members donate the pennies from the interest on their accounts just once a year to help smaller charities around the UK.
Last year the foundation donated over £283,000 to local causes and charities nominated by members and colleagues from around the UK.
