All roads lead to Scunthorpe as Emley AFC aim to clinch a league and cup double.
In their final game of the season the Northern Counties East League Premier Division champions take on First Division champions Parkgate in the League Cup Final at Scunthorpe United’s Attis Arena on Wednesday (May 8) at 7.45pm.
It will be a first competitive meeting of the sides since 2021. In terms of the league season, Emley finished nine points ahead of second-placed Campion but it was a different story for Parkgate.
They finished four points clear of Beverley Town after a monumental title battle between five teams, the top three all finishing on 100 points or more.
After falling behind in their schedule, Parkgate had to pack in 11 games in the last three weeks of the season.
A remarkable run of 10 games unbeaten, nine wins and a draw, saw them seal the title with a game to spare. They even found time to knock out two of Emley’s premier division rivals on their way to the JCP Construction League Cup Final.
Parkgate appear to have momentum despite a hectic run-in while Emley finished their league campaign a month ago and have had a break of almost two weeks since beating Rossington Main in the cup semi-final.
Emley AFC v Parkgate is on Wednesday May 8 (7.45) at the Attis Arena (aka Glanford Park) in Scunthorpe, DN15 8TD, with pay-on-the-gate at £5 for adults and £3 concessions.
Fans who can’t make the game can follow on Emley’s X (Twitter) feed or tune in to community radio station Barton FM.
