Due to work taking place around St George’s Square, this year’s St Patrick’s Day celebration in Huddersfield is on the move again.
The event will be held at Huddersfield Open Market in Brook Street on Sunday March 10. The celebration will include a bar, food vendors, sweet stall, ice cream van and face painting. In addition, a display of ‘come and have a go’ Gaelic football, with the Brothers Pearse GAA, is also planned.
The itinerary on the day is as follows:
11am – Mass at St Patrick’s Church (with Irish Dancers and Brother’s Pearse GAA Youth Section)
12noon – Parade Celebration starts at Huddersfield Open Market with MC DJ Chris hosting
12noon – 1pm: Traditional Irish Music Session (with Aidan Kilroy and Friends)
12.30 – 12.45pm: Huddersfield Irish Set Dancers
1pm – Parade Welcome

- Parade Blessing (Father Martin Kelly – Holy Reedemer parish priest)
- Chair Tony Lambe announces start of the parade
The parade will then take place along Byram Street and Brook Street

There will be a DJ playing Irish and chart tunes at the Irish Centre.
