Huddersfield’s Cedar Court Hotel is to unveil a new look after a £1.1 million refurbishment.
The 113-bed hotel at Ainley Top is having a grand re-launch on Thursday February 1 when it will unveil new facilities including ‘The Dugout’, an underground sports-themed venue with a dedicated private bar.
The refurbishment included bedrooms, dining, business and lounge areas and took place over 12 months.
The overhaul is part of the Cedar Court Hotel group’s wider strategy to create a ‘multi-purpose hub’ for the community.
Members of the public, sports fans and the Huddersfield business community are invited to attend the grand relaunch event.
‘The Dugout’ is a versatile event space for local sports teams, corporate groups and members of the community to meet.
Refurbishment inside the hotel includes updated and re-designed bedrooms, meeting rooms, lounge and lobby areas, restaurant and bar, alongside a refresh of The Yorkshire Suite.
Working with local designer Emma Jones, of Mirfield-based Rhubarb and Ginger Interiors, the palette of rich greens and warm wood takes inspiration from the surrounding landscape and historical industrial elements.
A sense of luxury has also been introduced through marble and brass to create a welcoming space with flow and cohesion to all areas of the ground floor.
Cedar Court Huddersfield has been named an official partner of The Piece Hall in Halifax which will host a series of top musical acts this year.
The relaunch event will be held on Thursday February 1 from 6pm-7.45pm with drinks, canapés and networking.
Speakers will include a special guest from Huddersfield Giants along with local business networking guru Sam Hartley, owner of SAM Networking; Liz Wood, head of membership, North and West Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce; and Colin Allen, commercial director at The Piece Hall Trust.
There will be a ‘grand curtain reveal’ and guests will be invited for an exclusive tour of the new and upgraded facilities. The event will end with a finale of live music at ‘The Dugout.’
The hotel is part of Yorkshire’s largest independent hotel group, Cedar Court Hotels, which turns over £18 million annually and attracts 500,000 visitors to its four hotels across Yorkshire.
Managing director Wayne Topley said: “It is fantastic to finally be able to share the refurbished Cedar Court Huddersfield space with guests, visitors and members of the local community.
“This £1.1 million investment shows our commitment to Huddersfield and the wider region. We are very excited to be partnering with The Piece Hall, an iconic venue which will attract thousands of music fans to Huddersfield, Halifax and Calderdale, and drive a huge boost for the local economy.
“Our refreshed interiors and facilities – including new sports venue ‘The Dugout’ – have been updated to ensure we become a multi-purpose hub for concert goers, business professionals, sports fans and locals alike.”
