A kind-hearted businessman wants to provide a free Christmas dinner for five Huddersfield families.
Ben Morris, 33, is to give hampers to five families struggling financially in the cost-of-living crisis to make sure they have a great Christmas Day.
He also has pre-wrapped Christmas presents for their children, is willing to give some money towards their energy costs to cook the meal and will even provide a Christmas tree if needed.
Ben, of Kirkheaton, set up his online bed and mattress company, Bens Bargains, four years ago and says the free Christmas dinners are his way of thanking the people of Huddersfield who have supported his business.
The former textile worker said: “I realise that many people are really struggling to make ends meet which is so sad. I’ve two young children and know how terrible it would be to be unable to provide them with presents or a Christmas dinner this year so I thought I’d help.”
People wanting to nominate a family in need can contact Ben through his Facebook page. Families can also put themselves forward.
Ben, who will distribute the hampers from December 19, added: “The hampers will contain everything a family needs to cook a great Christmas dinner. Hopefully it will really take the pressure off them at a time when it’s so tough for so many.”
People wanting to donate gift-wrapped presents for the families should also contact Ben.
