Welcome to our Huddersfield BID town centre blog where every month BID manager SAM SHARP looks at some of the exciting things going on in the town.
We’ve been busy at Huddersfield BID, and there’s plenty to share! From charitable causes to exciting events and opportunities to connect, here’s what’s new and worth knowing about.
We recently supported the Pants for Dignity initiative hosted by Huddersfield Mission alongside the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
This amazing cause helps provide underwear to those in need, giving them the dignity they deserve.
We donated some items and encourage you to do the same. If you’re buying pants as a gift this year, why not grab an extra pair to donate? Small gestures can make a big difference!
In other exciting news, our brand-new Events Calendar is live on the Huddersfield BID website! This handy tool lets you keep track of everything BID-related—from networking, events and community projects to the work of our incredible Street Rangers.
Ever wondered about the team behind gum removal, jet washing or graffiti clean-ups? Now you can see their schedules too. Plus, you can subscribe to updates straight to your device, making it easier than ever to stay in the loop.
The Cuppa Club is back for 2025! To make it more accessible, we’re now hosting it twice a month at 10 Queen Street all thanks to Lawrence Batley Theatre.
The Cuppa Club is all about tackling loneliness and bringing people together. Join us for games, bingo, live music and, of course, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits.
It’s a relaxed and friendly space to connect and unwind—we’d love to see you there.
And for all our business owners, Breakfast with BID returns in February 2025! It’s your chance to meet fellow business owners, chat with the BID team, and enjoy a free breakfast.
These informal sessions are perfect for discussing minor retail crime concerns, exploring training opportunities (like people management or marketing) or getting help with the Hello Huddersfield App. Keep an eye out for the dates—you won’t want to miss it!
Finally, as the year wraps up, we want to wish everyone in Huddersfield—businesses, residents, and visitors alike—a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Here’s to a brilliant 2025 filled with community spirit, growth and plenty of exciting events. Let’s keep making Huddersfield shine!
