The Mayor of Kirklees Clr Nosheen Dad helped a Huddersfield-based care company launch a new service.

Nestora Home Care unveiled ‘Essentials Express’, a new initiative designed to provide vital transport and delivery services to support vulnerable people in the community.

The launch event took place at the firm’s offices at Heritage Exchange in Lindley and Clr Dad stressed the importance of initiatives like ‘Essentials Express’, which enable vulnerable people to live independently while accessing crucial services.

She said: “It is fantastic to know that this new initiative will support vulnerable people in our communities to live independent, safe and happy lives.”

A company spokesman said the launch of ‘Essentials Express’ comes at a crucial time for adult social care in Kirklees.

“Around 11,800 adults receive some form of social care support but over 19,000 people are identified as needing services, indicating that vulnerable people are going without the care and support they need,” he said.

“This pressure on services often means that care professionals don’t always have the time to fulfil crucial needs, such as the last-minute collection of grocery essentials.

“Essentials Express aims to bridge this gap by providing timely assistance with daily tasks that often go unmet.”

‘Essentials Express’ aims to make everyday tasks, such as accessing healthcare, picking up prescriptions, attending appointments and the collection and delivery of essential food items, more manageable for those receiving home care, filling a vital gap for many in the community.

Speaking at the event, Anjam Razaq, director and owner of Nestora Home Care, said: “We are thrilled to be launching ‘Essentials Express’, which will allow us to further support our clients in maintaining their independence and quality of life.

“This is a crucial step in our ongoing mission to enhance care in our community.”
