Train passengers face another three months of misery with disruption between Huddersfield Railway Station, Dewsbury and Leeds in April, May and June.
The ongoing TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU) rail engineering work will see Brighouse Railway Station used as a rail and bus interchange location for people travelling to or from Huddersfield during the affected periods.
Huddersfield Railway Station will see partial closures and Paul Sumner from TRU said: “These closures will enable the safe delivery of critical infrastructure upgrades, including track and drainage renewals, bridge works, signalling improvements and significant station enhancements along the route between Huddersfield and Leeds.
“We understand the ongoing work will cause some disruption and we’d like to thank everybody for their patience throughout this period.’’
Andrew Allwright, TRU programme delivery lead for Northern, said: “While these works are being carried out over the coming months our services will be operating to an amended timetable and, in some instances, rail replacement buses will be in operation.’’
