The 3 Acres restaurant in Huddersfield has marked six months since re-opening following a devastating fire on Boxing Day 2023.
The much-loved restaurant with rooms – which has been owned and run by the Truelove family since 1968 – re-opened on May 18 2025 after a 17-month programme of refurbishment including a re-designed restaurant and bar, eight brand new luxury bedrooms and a £450,000 state-of-the-art kitchen.
Owner Tom Truelove said: “As we gear up for our first Christmas since re-opening, we’ve been reflecting on the unbelievable level of support we’ve been shown over the past six months.
“Almost 40,000 guests have dined with us since May and the feedback we’ve had has been excellent.

“The refurbishment following the fire was a difficult and challenging process, not least because we were conscious of staying true to the essence of The 3 Acres throughout the renovation while also implementing enough subtle changes to designing the building for its next chapter and to deliver an even more refined experience.
“However, the reaction to what we’ve created – and the number of guests we’ve welcomed through the doors since re-opening – show that the choices we made were the right ones and we’re delighted with what we have achieved.”
Tom added: “We spent months designing and specifying our new kitchen to create what I believe is now one of the best in the country and allows our team of chefs to push the boundaries of culinary excellence and create the exceptional food that The 3 Acres is renowned for and that generations of families and returning guests know and love.”
