Swimming school In2Swim is hosting its annual Christmas-themed swim for the third successive year to raise money for The Kirkwood.

The event is organised by swimming teacher Samantha McCabe who said: “I am aiming for £1,000 but would be happy with whatever amount we can raise. Last year we raised £1,076 which astounded me.”

Samantha chose the Dalton-based hospice as her dad Raymond, 86, is currently battling secondary breast cancer and bone cancer.

In2Swim has over 250 children involved across all ages, and the charity swim will see children taking to the water whilst wearing their reindeer antlers.

The charity swims take place on Wednesday to Friday from 4pm to 7pm and on Saturday from 9am to 12noon at TruGym in Wakefield Road, Moldgreen.

Samantha added: “Christmas is the time for giving and it’s going to a great cause!”
