Street food festival HuddersFeast returns and there’s an open-air church service in St Peter’s events space too

Huddersfield’s street food festival HuddersFeast returns this weekend with two days of food, drink and good vibes in the heart of the town centre.

Organised by Huddersfield BID, the event runs on Saturday August 22 (10am-10pm) and Sunday August 23 (11am-5pm).

Huddersfield BID promises good food, good company and safe social drinking at St Peter’s Gardens next to Huddersfield Parish Church.

And on the Sunday – an hour before the event opens – St Peter’s Parish Church brings its Sunday service outdoors with an open invitation for everyone to come along.

The service starts at 10am in the park and will last just over an hour, with hymns, prayers, readings and a communion.

It will be led by the Vicar of Huddersfield the Rev Canon Rachel Firth who said: “Everyone is welcome – people who are used to church and people who aren’t – to share in our open-air service.

“We hope people will stay and enjoy all that HuddersFeast has to offer too. We love working with our friends at Huddersfield BID so our space here in the heart of Huddersfield can be used by all our town’s diverse communities.

“There will be benches and gazebos provided by Huddersfield BID but people are welcome to bring a deckchair and a cushion to make sure they can relax and enjoy the service and this beautiful space in the middle of the town.”
